An all-original musical theatrical production, a portion of which we intend to broadcast live on the radio a’la the Prairie Home Companion.

This means we are crafting two distinct show experiences: an hourlong radio broadcast featuring songs, sketches, live commercial reads and more that, with the help of a radio partner, will be broadcast live the evening before our public performances; and the theatrical production, which will play out before, during, and after the radio show (which will be performed though not broadcast every night).

It is that second part that makes this show so special. Our hope is that our audience will tune in to the radio broadcast first, which is a fully formed show to be enjoyed as a standalone production. What they will then be rewarded with upon seeing the entire theatrical production is the story behind that broadcast, with the characters’ narratives running through the radio show and wrapping up afterwards. Things heard on the original radio broadcast will take on new meaning when viewed within the context of the larger narrative.

We are in the midst of bringing all these elements together and so far its all coming along nicely. We’ve got an engaging cast of characters that continues to push our story forward, and we’ve begun the songwriting process now that major story beats have been mapped out. Exciting times!
